Lyrics[]

I'm sick and tired of the world tellin' me
How to live my life
What beer I should drink to make me feel alright
The standards dropping, the streets need mopping
The world's tryin' to change the rules
They've forgotten just how we begun
Humanism's taken its toll

Chorus:
We'll know who's right in the end
Every knee shall bow
We'll know who's right in the end
Every tongue confess

So be a man and make up your mind
How to live your life
What standard have you set
To make you feel alright?
The church is rising, no compromising
Holiness is cool
Men laugh. In the end they'll die
Evolutionists will pay the toll

Chorus followed by a repeat of the first verse, followed by the chorus

lyrics from the sleeve insert of "Hell is for Wimps"

Trivia[]

  • This song contains some of the first examples in the Newsboys' discography of firm doctrinal positions more specific than broad evangelicalism. The song seems to discourage the consumption of alcohol and criticize the theory of evolution.
  • This song was included in the Ultimate Rock compilation album released by 214 Records, which coincidentally also included Boycott Hell by Demargo and Key, which would later be covered by the Newsboys on the album "Not Ashamed."

Scripture references[]

  • The chorus quotes Romans 14:11, which itself quotes Isaiah 45:23.
