Boys Will Be Boyz is Newsboys third studio album, released in 1991. It would be their last album before Steve Taylor started producing Newsboys albums. A VHS tape entitled "Boys Will Be Boyz" was released in late 1991, and featured recordings of live performances of a few songs from this album, along with the music video for Simple Man and a behind-the-scenes featurette.
The band would see increased success on this album compared with their two previous albums, including One Heart, which peaked at #2 or #1 on the Contemporary Hits Radio chart, depending on the source. It was the first album devoid of rerecordings of songs from their demo cassette, seeing a shift to a greater variety of musical instruments. The band's drummer, Peter Furler, would perform rap lyrics of some songs along with lead vocal duties in Stay With Me, beginning his path the becoming the band's lead singer in 1997.
